(Philadelphia, PA) - March 30, 1997: CPV Manufacturing, Inc. Extreme vibration will not loosen Mark VIII O-Seal stainless steel fittings, and a sudden pressure surge only makes the seal tighter. Mark VIII fittings are designed with flat faced union connections. A positive seal is formed when a resilient O-ring incorporated into a close tolerance groove on the body is compressed. Low torqueing of the union nut is all it takes to achieve leakproof reliability up to 6000 psi in liquids and gases -- including hydrogen. Installation and removal of Mark VIII fittings is as easy as "slip-in, slip-out;" springing or cutting the line is not necessary. Where leakproof line size changes are needed, the Mark VIII system offers a unique series of line size reduction tailpieces from 2" down to 1/8" O.D. Compression, flareless, or flared tube fittings can't make line size changes without extra adapters and connectors. This adds to cost, increases leakage paths and compromises reliability. Mark VIII engineered fittings include unions, connectors, tees, elbows and crosses in O.D. tube sizes from 1/4" to 2". Available in stainless steel, bronze, monel, steel, and titanium. Engineers ordering Mark VIII fittings should consider temperature rating and fluid compatibility before specifying O-ring material. CPV has been a leading manufacturer of valves and fittings since 1915. The company's innovative approach is well suited to unique applications or one-of-a-kind custom requirements.
