CPV Goes to Sea with the U.S. Navy

The minute a threat to our national security arises anywhere in the world, every system on every surface ship and submarine in the U.S. Navy must be up to speed immediately. The war against terrorism clearly demonstrates
that need.

For this reason the Navy constantly seeks out components that will continue to function at 100% even under conditions of extreme stress. Since the early 1950’s the Navy has been specifying CPV high pressure valves and fittings. Because these valves assure leakproof connections up to 6,000 psi, the Navy specifies them for a variety of gas & liquid applications.

CPV. Helping protect the Navy’s most valuable assets
CPV O-Seal valves and fittings help assure safe operation of the heavyduty winches and are also found on the anchor windlass of U.S. Navy ships. In addition, there are a number of CPV instrument/gauge valves and fittings in the freon based refrigeration and air-conditioning systems. On carriers there are CPV valves & fittings in the elevator systems that lift aircraft to the flight deck, in the arresting gear which catch aircraft when they return and in the lubrication system on the catapults which launch the aircraft.

CPV relief valves are found in air and hydraulic systems throughout the Navy. Because of their reliability, they are set to relieve excess pressure in the high pressure air ram tensioner systems and a variety of other critical applications.

Every part ordered from CPV for naval installations is meticulously tested/inspected and certified before shipment. As a result, CPV O-Seal system components have been consistently trouble free.

CPV has been a leading manufacturer of valves and fittings since 1915. The company’s innovative designs are well suited to standard as well as custom applications.
