CPV President, Bob Engle steps down. George Bonadio to assume command

(Fall 2004) - Bob Engle has been an employee of CPV Manufacturing, Inc. since graduating from Penn State with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1951. After rising through the ranks at the company, he assumed the presidency in 1967. While he plans to continue to serve as Chairman and work part time as a consultant, he is retiring as president. George Bonadio, who has also made his career at CPV, will be the new president.

The company was started in 1915 and after several years moved to its present location on Preston Street in Philadelphia. CPV began by manufacturing pump valves for reciprocating pumps, and later branched out by developing a line of valves and fittings for high pressure liquids and gases, for pressures to 6000 psi. CPV has always taken pride in using the latest methods of manufacturing, the most up-to-date selection of materials and all of this is backed up by thorough research.

The new president, George Bonadio said he planed to keep CPV working towards more efficient manufacturing methods and improved products. "After all, innovation and quality manufacturing have kept us successful for 90 years; you can't argue with a track record like that," Mr. Bonadio said. To this end he has initiated a "Lean Supply Chain Management" program that is to begin in December. The program will be administered by the Delaware Valley Industrial Resource Center. "At the present time our manufacturing has a 99% quality rating, but we need to develop the speed and agility required to raise our delivery performance to this same high level. I consider the company to be embarking on a journey to create an environment that facilitates continuous improvement. To that end, I consider every employee, distributor and sales rep as a partner and a contributor to the process."

CPV has been a leading manufacturer of valves and fittings since 1915. The company's innovative designs are well suited to standard applications as well as highly specific requirements.
