Torque Values for Bonnets & Gland Nuts of G-Series® Valves

  1. The following torque values should be used for assembling the valves given.
  2. The values shown are for dry assembly. If lubrication is used on the threads, it is recommended that torques closer to the minimum be used.
  3. The minimum values establish the lower limit for permanent assembly. Torque values below the minimum should not be used. Torque values larger than the maximum are not recommended without prior approval.

Torque Values for Bonnets of Mark VIII® Shutoff & Regulating Valves

  1. The following torque values are to be used for assembling the valves given.

Torque Values for Bonnets, Gland Nuts and Stem Retainers of O-SEAL® Hand Valves

  1. The following torque values are to be used for assembling the valves given.

Operating Torque Values for O-SEAL® & G-Series® Hand Valves

  1. The table below is a list of the Maximum torques which may be encountered.
  2. Most generally the actual operating torques are 10 to 20% less than these figures depending upon the fluid flowing through the valve, the stem lubrication, and the condition of the seat.
  3. For operating pressures less than 6000 PSI the torque values are less. It is recommended that the listed values be used for operating pressures between 3000 and 6000 PSI. For pressures of 3000 PSI and less, two thirds of the listed value may be used. Torque values are maximum and under actual conditions they may be less.

Operating Torque Values for Seating of Mark VIII® Shutoff and Regulating Valves

  1. The table below is a list of the Maximum torques which may be encountered.
  2. Most generally the actual operating torques are 10 to 20% less than these figures depending upon the fluid flowing through the valve, the stem lubrication, and the condition of the seat.
  3. For operating pressures less than 3000 PSI the torque values are less. It is recommended that the listed values be used for operating pressures between 1500 and 3000 PSI. For pressures of 1500 PSI and less, two thirds of the listed value may be used. Torque values are maximum and under actual conditions they may be less.

Union Nut Torque Values for Mark VIII® Cat. H850N

  1. The following torque values should be used for tightening CPV Mark VIII® Union Nuts when making up a joint.
  2. The values apply to joints installed into a piping system. They do not apply for stock assembly or, for shipping assembly. In the latter case hand tight is acceptable.
  3. The minimum values establish the lower limit for permanently made up joints. Torque values below the minimum may be used for temporary service. Torque values larger than the maximum are not recommended without consulting the CPV Manufacturing engineering department.

Union Nut Torque Values for O-SEAL® Cat. 50N

Straight Thread Torque Values for Various CPV Fittings

  1. The following torque values should be used for tightening straight thread O-Ring sealed threaded connections.
  2. The torque values shown apply to steel and/or stainless steel components.
  3. It is recommended not to exceed ten percent (10%) of the values shown.
